Joan Miró foundation launches 50th anniversary festivities
The foundation will reopen the Cypress Garden, a previously inaccessible part of its iconic building

The Joan Miró Foundation has unveiled its calendar of events for the 50th anniversary of its founding.
Throughout the year, the foundation will host a series of celebrations highlighting its "essential role in promoting art and culture."
The festivities will begin on June 15 with an event recreating the atmosphere of the foundation's inauguration five decades ago.
Key highlights include an exhibition titled The poetry has just begun: 50 years of the foundation, exploring the foundation's history and evolution.
Another major event is the Miró and the United States exhibition, running from October 10 to February 22, 2026.
The show will explore Miró’s influence on 20th-century art and his interactions with renowned American artists, including Louise Bourgeois, Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the foundation will reopen the Cypress Garden, a previously inaccessible part of its iconic building.
The garden will be incorporated into the visitor experience as Miró originally envisioned.
