Jennifer Lopez Invites Barcelona To Stay ‘Up All Night’
Multi-platinum artist brings first tour in six years to Palau Sant Jordi

American singer Jennifer Lopez brought her ‘Up All Night’ tour to the Palau Sant Jordi Tuesday night, marking her third stop of the tour. ‘Up All Night’ marks Lopez’s first tour in six years after the cancellation of last year’s ‘This is Me…Now’ tour, which the singer called off, citing the need to take “time off to be with her children, family and close friends.”
Her fans’ patience was well-rewarded, as the singer brought the energy straight from the start. Lopez started the show off strong with ‘On the Floor,’ complete with bursts of fire, smoke, and a crowd that couldn’t resist jumping. The singer, dressed in a silver sequin leotard, was accompanied by a crew of energetic dancers in similar sequin uniforms. She then sang an unreleased song, a house-music track titled ‘Save Me Tonight.’ Lopez then sang an extended version of ‘Ain’t Your Mama,’ complete with a dance break and snippets of “Sexy MF” by Prince.

The show was accompanied by multiple interludes — essentially light shows set to electronic music — to keep the show’s energy up during her and her dancers’ many costume changes.
Lopez returned on stage with a rock version of one of her biggest hits, ‘Jenny From the Block,’ mashed up with Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You.’ During ‘I’m Real,’ the singer got the crowd swaying their hands back and forth. Lopez then sang another new song after asking the audience if they were ready to “hear some new shit.” The song was titled ‘Regular’ and ended with Lopez and her crew of dancers headbanging and chanting that she was “Still Jenny!”
The singer took many opportunities to talk to the audience, telling her diehard fans that she loved them. At one point in the show, Lopez told her fans that she was trying to speak more Spanish, which was met with deafening cheers from the crowd. Another charming moment happened when Lopez saw a fan’s sign asking the singer to marry them, to which she responded with “I think I’m done with that, I’ve tried it a few times!”, with a chuckle.

The pyrotechnics returned in full force with ‘Get Right,’ another one of Lopez’s classics — featuring the cane choreography from the song’s music video.
After yet another costume change (this time coming out on stage in a silver bodysuit and white button-down), Lopez performed a sensual dance intro to ‘I’m Into You’ with a couple of her male dancers. This was followed by some chair-ography to another unreleased song titled “Birthday.”
Watching the crowd, you could see diehard fans throughout the entire arena, singing every word to Lopez’s songs and chanting “J. LO” between any break between songs.
Lopez honored Spain with a flamenco section of her show, with flamenco-inspired versions of her first hit song and debut single, ‘If You Had My Love’ and ‘Ain’t It Funny.’ Lopez told the audience that she wanted to bring out songs that were “anti-amor” (unloved), singing ‘Qué Hiciste.’
“I have to make more Spanish records, right?” The singer told the audience, to even more uproarious applause.
Lopez reminded everyone about her stellar performance in the biopic ‘Selena,’ performing the late singer’s song ‘Si Una Vez.’
She acknowledged the cancellation of her last tour, telling the audience that it hurt a lot to cancel, but she thanked them for their patience and was glad to be back on the stage, singing an unreleased song about finding strength, titled ‘Wreckage of You.’
The singer kept her energy up the entire hour and 20-minute set, rounding out the show with more hits like ‘Dance Again’ and ‘Let’s Get Loud.’ The whole crowd could be seen jumping up and down, with an energy so infectious you couldn’t help but join.
The show’s encore featured two more unreleased songs: ‘Free’ and ‘Up All Night,’ during which she came down to the barricade to greet her fans and hold their hands.
Fans must have stayed up all night after the show, as they left the arena buzzing with excitement.
