Isabel Coixet to premiere latest film at Toronto International Film Festival
Three Goodbyes is based on posthumous, semi-autobiographical book by feminist activist Michela Murgia

Catalan filmmaker Isabel Coixet will premiere her latest film, Three Goodbyes (Tres adioses), in the Special Presentations section of the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, which runs from September 4 to 14.
Together with screenwriter Enrico Audenino, Coixet also co-wrote the script, which is based on the posthumous, semi-autobiographical book 'Tre ciotole' (Three bowls) by Italian feminist activist Michela Murgia.
The film stars Alba Rohrwacher and Elio Germano, alongside Francesco Carril, Silvia d'Amico, Galatea Bellugi, and Sarita Choudhury.
The plot sees a couple – Marta (Alba Rohrwacher) and Antonio (Elio Germano) – separate after what seems like a trivial argument.

Marta withdraws into herself, with her sudden loss of appetite the one symptom she can't overlook.
Meanwhile, Antonio – a chef whose career is on the rise – finds himself unable to forget her, despite being the one who ended the relationship.
Isabel Coixet is a multi-award-winning director whose films include My Life Without Me, The Secret Life of Words, and The Bookshop.
Three Goodbyes is an Italian-Spanish co-production backed by Cattleya (part of ITV Studios), Ruvido Produzioni, Bartlebyfilm, Buenapinta Media, Bteam Prods, Colosé Producciones, and Perdición Films.
