Catalonia launches CataLANDance, a new international platform for contemporary dance
Terrassa to host first edition of biennial event promoting Catalan dance worldwide

Catalonia is launching a new international platform for contemporary dance.
From November 26 to 29, Terrassa will host the first edition of CataLANDance, designed to promote Catalan creativity, foster professional collaboration, and strengthen the international reach of Catalonia's dance sector.
The initiative, launched by Terrassa City Council and the Catalan Ministry of Culture via the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC), brings together artists and programmers in what organizers describe as a "strategic marketplace" for Catalan dance.
"We've designed the kind of strategic marketplace project the country needed," said artistic director Pau Estrem, emphasizing that CataLANDance represents a collective effort that showcases not just the artists, but the entire dance ecosystem of Catalonia.
The first edition in Terrassa, 30km northwest of Barcelona, will feature 14 performances, three project presentations, five open studios, and ten networking sessions, including roundtables, and talks. Participants include artists such as Núria Guiu, Lasadcim, and Vero Cendoya, who will open their creative processes to international programmers.
CataLANDance will be held biennially, alternating with Festival Especial Dansa Tarragona, to ensure that each year Catalonia's dance sector has a dedicated space to present their work nationally and internationally.
