During the Barcelona summer, few things are better than dancing in the sunshine overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

This weekend, Brunch Elecronik Festival lands at Parc del Fòrum with another stellar lineup of international house and techno to keep revelers bouncing all day and night.

Fans are looking forward to "fast music, and a lot of dancing," as Pauline, originally from Germany but living in Barcelona, put it to Catalan News. She's at Brunch with two Argentine friends, Olivia and Julieta.

After Thursday night's opening party in Poble Espanyol, headlined by Maribou State, five separate stages will offer no end of delights to fans in Parc del Fòrum from 3 pm to 1 am on Friday and until 3 am on Saturday.

"I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long," Arlet, a Catalan electronic music fan, told Catalan News. She explained that she and her group "love festivals" and "love techno," and she was especially happy "because we’re sharing this with a very random group of people, a friend from Germany, the Netherlands, we are Catalan, and it’s a very special moment."

Clement and Rafa, who both travelled from France to be at the festival, said they both think Barcelona is "definitely" a great destination for live music.

Nacho was another reveller who made a journey to be at Brunch Electronik, travelling from Madrid just to enjoy the festival, "and a bit of beach too." He's excited to "give it all" on Friday night, before recharging ahead of another packed day on Saturday.

Originally from Madrid, Nacho admitted that Barcelona has "always been the reference point" for electronic music, but he still thinks "Madrid is getting better and is putting on some really good things lately."

Pauline, Olivia, and Julieta, all living in the Catalan capital but who hail from elsewhere, also underlined Barcelona's status as a world leader in electronic music festivals.

Meanwhile Laia, a Catalan festival-goer, pointed out that the sound system at Brunch was "incredible," something she said was "very important" for her.

Friday's action includes sets from Adriatique, Ben Böhmer (live), DJ Tennis, Jungle (DJ set), Maceo Plex, Nina Kraviz, and Purple Disco Machine (live), among plenty more.

Saturday features heavy-hitters such as Chris Liebing, Chris Stussy, Ela Minus, Marco Carola b2b Seth Troxler, Mëstiza, Monolink (live), Myd (live), Róisín Murphy, and Sally C.

“This year we’ve gone big on shade, water, and comfortable spaces," said François Jozic, co-founder of the event, in the build-up to the festival earlier in the summer.

This edition will introduce Bosc Urbà, 'urban forest' in Catalan, a covered area offering natural shade while maintaining an open-air atmosphere. Other changes include improved crowd flow, clearer signage, and expanded hydration areas.

A new official app will allow attendees to check set times, navigate the venues, and submit feedback. The festival will also maintain initiatives focused on safety and social responsibility, including support services and collaborations with local organizations.

Tickets and passes are available through the festival’s official website.
