Festival de Jazz Barcelona has announced a new wave of artists joining its 58th edition, as the city's flagship jazz event continues its run toward celebrating 60 years of history.

Among the latest confirmed performers are saxophonist Branford Marsalis, singer Dianne Reeves, jazz pianist Michel Camilo, composer and arranger Maria Schneider and jazz pianist Sullivan Fortner.

They will appear alongside a roster already headlined by singer Van Morrison, guitarist Pat Metheny, and musician Marcus Miller.

Catalan artists will also feature at the festival, such as singer Ramon Mirabet, trumpeter and saxophonist Andrea Motis, and the Barcelona Jazz Orchestra.

The festival opens on April 18 with a concert by the Marco Mezquida Trio, kicking off a programme that runs through November 28 with performances across Barcelona's major venues including L’Auditori, Palau de la Música Catalana, Paral·lel 62 and Gran Teatre del Liceu.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, founded by Catalan musician Joan Chamorro, which will receive the festival's Gold Medal.

The programme also features a range of concert formats and collaborations, from Marcus Miller's 'We Want Miles!' show to a set by Maria Schneider & Clasijazz Big Band and duo performances by Andrea Motis and Yamandu Costa.

In addition to ticketed shows, the festival will host the Barcelona International Jazz Day on April 26. The free day‑long celebration of jazz will take place at Barcelona's Passeig de Gràcia with open‑access concerts and performances.

The 2026 edition inaugurates a special three‑year cycle marking 60 years since the festival's first concert in 1966, when the American band Dave Brubeck Quartet opened the event's history.

Over the decades, the festival has become a world‑renowned platform that balances international stars with local talent, and a programme of masterclasses, talks, and artist encounters.

As part of the anniversary, the Barcelona-based organisation Ibercàmera will also pay tribute to the festival with a concert by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra featuring Branford Marsalis as soloist.

Tickets are already on sale for events throughout the spring, summer and autumn, offering jazz fans a wide spectrum of styles and settings.
