Benedict Cumberbatch receives Time Machine award at Sitges Festival
The actor famous for Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange said he felt honored by the "wonderful and prestigious" festival

The actor Benedict Cumberbatch received the Time Machine award on Monday for his career at the Sitges Film Festival.
Best known for his roles in Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange, among many other international hits, Cumberbatch said he was honoured by the recognition.
"I'm hugely humbled by this recognition and by your invitation for our film 'The Thing with Feathers' to be part of this wonderful, prestigious fantasy festival," he said.

Cumberbatch received the award while presenting his latest film, The Thing with Feathers, directed by Dylan Southern, which is part of the festival’s official selection.
"I'm a huge fan of Spanish cinema, so to be honored at one of your festivals means a great deal. I wish I could stay longer," he added.
The film will be released in Spanish cinemas on October 31 and is based on Max Porter’s bestselling novel Grief Is the Thing with Feathers.
It tells the story of a young father, played by Cumberbatch, whose life takes a sudden turn after the unexpected death of his wife. He and his two sons must navigate their grief and find a way to move forward.
