Enigma, the restaurant spearheaded by chef Albert Adrià, has made the prestigious World's 50 Best Restaurants list for the first time.

The gastronomic ranking has included the Barcelona concept restaurant among the best ranked in the world at number 34. It has improved on last year's result when it ranked 59th.

The awards ceremony took place this Thursday in Turin, with Enigma the only Catalan project making the top 50.

Enigma's offering is inspired by seasonal products, to which 40 years of experience from chef Albert Adrià is added.

The restaurant was designed by the architectural studio RCR Arquitectes, and is located on Carrer Sepúlveda in Barcelona, in the Eixample district.

The menu is based on around 25 preparations, which change according to cycles, with some dishes available all year round and others depending on the season.

Last year, Disfrutar, also in Barcelona, was named the World's Best Restaurant. Previous winners are exempt from future editions of the ranking, however, meaning Disfrutar was not included again this year.
