Barcelona-based independent publisher to release 'Katie' by Michael McDowell in October

American author Michael McDowell's 'Katie' will arrive in Catalan libraries on October 8 in Catalan and Spanish as 'Filla de la Venjança' or 'Hija de la venganza.'

The Barcelona-based independent publisher, Blackie Books, will release the 1982 book by McDowell. Born in 1950 and passed away in 1999, the author is famous for his 'Blackwater' saga, which became a major publishing success when it was released last year in Catalan and Spanish, also via the same independent publisher.

The book’s release will also inaugurate the Michael McDowell Library at Blackie Books, which plans to publish all of the author’s works in the coming years.

The new cover for ‘Katie’ is illustrated by Pedro Oyarbide, who also illustrated the cover for the six books of the ‘Blackwater’ saga.

‘Katie’ is set in the late 19th century and follows Philomela Drax in the pursuit of Katie Slape, a murderer with paranormal powers.
