Creativity takes over the streets of the Poblenou district in Barcelona this weekend, forming a circuit of ten places showcasing the work of local and international artists. AR-DE, the tour created by the creative community of Poblenou Urban District, includes exhibitions and other activities dedicated to the latest developments in the world of art and design.

El Poblenou is a neighbourhood of the Catalan capital on the eastern side of the coastline. The area used to be industrial, with a myriad of warehouses and factories, some of which have now turned into bars, tech hubs and cultural centers. Later on, the neighbourhood became known for its creative community. Poblenou Urban Community is the association in charge of promoting art and creativity in the area, and now organizes the third edition of AR-DE.

The circuit focuses on two important cultural branches: art and design. The three day experience presents a chance to get to know emerging and established artists, both local and international. They highlight recent developments in art and design, using photography, furniture, publishing and more to showcase the change.

Different museums, galleries and showrooms about fashion take part in AR-DE, including Disseny Hub Barcelona, Centre d’Art Contemporani and Museu Can Framis. With the initiative, these spaces want to bring the public closer to their programming and encourage the sale of art and design.

Some of the scheduled activities are a presentation of the 2022 novelties with new collections of Spanish designers Jaime Hayon and Oscar Tusquets at the BD Barcelona Design showroom and the opening of a new selection of furniture and decorations by some of the most renowned Scandinavian designers in Noak Room. Showroom La Plataforma opens its doors with ‘BLOCK’, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Sasha Sime and offers a chance to meet the artist on Saturday and Sunday.

All other events and locations are listed on this map. AR-DE kicks off on October 14 and lasts the whole weekend.
