Almost 130k spectators in Catalonia watch 'Wolfgang' movie in first month
Film reaches similar levels to 'House on Fire' and 'El 47,' and sees over €3 million in revenue across Spain

The Catalan language film 'Wolfgang' is almost breaking spectator digits in Catalan cinemas, as 128,331 spectators have watched the movie in the first months since its release on March 14.
Despite the success, 'Wolfgang' stands as the third most watched Catalan language movie in cinemas behind 'A House on Fire' with 142,515 spectators in the first month, and 'El 47' with 158,255.
The film, an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Laia Aguilar, directed by filmmaker Javier Ruiz Caldera, was a huge success during its opening weekend, leading sales across Spain.
In its first month, it has already generated over €3 million in ticket sales, becoming the second most-sold Catalan language movie in cinemas in history, just behind 'El 47,' according to Universal figures.
Only in Catalonia did the movie bring €904,782 during the first four weeks.
Starring Jordi Catalán and Miki Esparbé, 'Wolfgang (Extraordinary)' tells the story of a boy with a high IQ and autism spectrum disorder, who is forced to live with his father whom he has never seen before, after the death of his mother.
Director Ruiz Caldera explained in an interview with the Catalan News Agency that he wanted to approach the project with "responsibility," aware that it dealt with "deep" issues.
"It's a film for all ages, and I think it's beautiful because it's not so common," Ruiz Caldera said.
