Cultural venues in Catalonia will return to full capacity from Friday for the first time in 19 months.

To celebrate the long-awaited news, many of the biggest cultural venues are offering special discounted prices of €10, far cheaper than normal, with the hopes of selling their programmed shows out.

Theatres, cinemas, and concert halls have welcomed the long-awaited news and are already applying the loosened Covid-19 regulations after they came into force on Friday morning.

Many of Barcelona's biggest cultural venues have unlocked the tickets they were unable to sell under the regulations that have now been lifted.

Discounts are on offer for events lasting until October 31 in the likes of Barcelona's Palau de la Música, Auditori, Mercat de les Flors, Teatre Lliure and the National Theater (TNC).

The iconic Liceu Opera Hall has also joined in the offer, but their tickets will be lowered to €30. They will also be available until the end of the month.

In a joint press release, all six cultural institutions have said that they aim to sell out.

Palau de la Música offers tickets at €10 for events including one on Gustav Mahler, a flamenco gala, a piano concert by Igor Levit with Shostakovich music, and guitar shows.

A version of 'The Magic Flute' for children, Britten's 'War Requiem' and Telemann's 'Orpheus' are available at a reduced price in Liceu.

As for the National Theatre, three plays offer tickets at €10, and five plays at the Teatre Lliure will be available.

Mercat de les Flors, a theater specializing in dance, has tickets for their upcoming shows 'Made of Space' and 'The black body, the blue mind and the fluorescent guts' at the same price.

Auditori, also in Barcelona, is offering discounted prices to 'Sibelius 5', 'Suite de Lucia', and 'Brahms 3'.

Other ongoing festivals, such as Girona's Temporada Alta or the Sitges Fantasy and Horror Film Festival, are also already applying the new rules and are now selling extra tickets for their upcoming events.
