080 Barcelona Fashion opened its second edition Tuesday at Port Vell, with 26 designers and brands set to present collections through Thursday.

The program kicked off with the fifth edition of 080 Reborn, an initiative dedicated to circular fashion in which designers work exclusively with garments recovered from second-hand shops, vintage markets and textile reuse channels.

Speaking at the opening, Catalonia's Minister of Business and Labour, Miquel Sàmper, highlighted the economic weight of the sector. The fashion and textile industry in Catalonia generates €17.5 billion annually and directly employs 74,000 people across 953 companies.

When indirect suppliers and small businesses are included, the value chain extends to 12,000 companies and 80,000 workers.

Sàmper described the sector as vibrant and dynamic, calling for greater efforts to attract young talent and to strengthen the connection between fashion, culture and traditional craftsmanship.

The runway lineup includes established names such as Custo Barcelona, Dominnico, Escorpion and Guillermina Baeza, alongside emerging brands including 404 Studio, Crypta, Louis Gabriel Nouchi and Sohuman.

Beyond the runway, this edition features the 080Spot_SpainGallery and 080_BeyondCrafts projects, as well as the PLEC-Barcelona Cultura de Moda initiative, launched by Barcelona City Council to bring fashion closer to the general public.

080 Barcelona Fashion is organized by the Department of Business and Labour through the Consortium for Commerce, Crafts and Fashion of Catalonia, with the collaboration of Barcelona City Council. Shows continue through Thursday at Port Vell.
