Barcelona HIV patient differs from 'completely cured' cases but 'infection under control'
<p>A woman with HIV known as "the Barcelona patient" has been able to suppress viral activity without the help of antiretrovirals for the past 15 years. </p>
<p>Unlike patients in Berlin and London who have been "completely cured," Hospital Clínic-IDIBAPS researcher Núria Climent explains, "the Barcelona patient still has viable virus that we've been able to replicate, but her infection is under control." </p> / ACN
