The Catalan health minister expects that 450,000 people be given the two doses of the coronavirus vaccine by March. This comes as Spain's government released information of how the population will be split into 15 groups for the jab. Care home residents, health workers and dependent people will be the first – the rest of the order has not yet been disclosed.

Talks over a merger between BBVA and Banc Sabadell have failed. Both disagreed over the split of both firm's shares. A merger would have created Spain's second largest lender.

Self-employed workers will be able to register for government aid from Monday. The system will not operate on a first come first serve basis, after the website crashed the last time.
