15-Oct-21: 'Bars, restaurants, and culture sector celebrate lifting of restrictions'

<p dir="ltr"><span>Restaurants welcomed the first day without restrictions. Along with most other activities that are open to the public, like culture, outdoor sports, universities and fairs, capacity limits no longer apply. Some bars didn't notice much of a difference, while others did. </span><span>All of them say they now see the light at the end of the tunnel.</span></p> <p dir="ltr"><span>Barcelona's top 6 cultural venues are offering discounts until October 31 to celebrate the end of capacity limits. L'Auditori, the Palau de la M&uacute;sica, Teatre Lliure, el Mercat de les Flors, and the National Theatre are selling tickets for 10 euros, while the Liceu is doing so at 30&euro;. </span><span>More tickets for ongoing events like the Sitges film festival and Temporada Alta are already on sale.</span></p> <p dir="ltr"><span>Friends and family are, from today, allowed to greet passengers in airports. At Barcelona-El Prat, emotions were running high as the usual, pre-pandemic scenes returned to the arrivals area.</span></p> <p><span id="docs-internal-guid-e48bbc98-7fff-878f-acfc-48fc30005128"><span>Most parties commemorated the 81</span><span><span>st</span></span><span> anniversary of Catalan president Llu&iacute;s Companys' execution at the hands of Francoism.
