Video game company Scopely opens largest global office in Barcelona
Company is responsible for 'Monopoly GO!', 'Stumble Guys', 'Star Trek Fleet Command', among others

Mobile gaming company Scopely has officially opened its largest office globally in Barcelona. Located in the 22@ district in Poblenou, the new 8,500-square-meter office supports a team of 700 employees.
"This is actually bigger than our U.S. office," said Hugo Pibernat, head of Scopely in Barcelona and CTO of Playgami. "It's the biggest Scopely office worldwide."
Founded in Los Angeles, Scopely is known for mobile game hits like Monopoly GO!, Stumble Guys, and Star Trek Fleet Command. The company now employs over 1,000 people across Spain and is the country's largest video game employer.
The company has made Barcelona the global headquarters of Playgami, its proprietary technology platform that powers its games. "It sits behind some of the greatest features that we have built over time and it's the secret sauce of how Scopely has been building games successfully," Pibernat told Catalan News.

The new office complex features smart technology, green spaces, and a design focused on sustainability and employee well-being. It aims to achieve environmental certifications like LEED and BREEAM.
Scopely, founded in 2011, first opened a Barcelona office in 2017 with just five employees. Now, the Barcelona team is highly international, with employees from around the world working in disciplines ranging from engineering and design to legal and media.
The company has surpassed $10 billion in lifetime revenue and over one billion downloads globally, rising as a dominant presence in the Western mobile gaming industry.

The opening event was attended by government officials including the Catalan President Salvador Illa; Barcelona Deputy Mayor Raquel Gil; and Catalonia's Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández Almodóvar, alongside the Scopely leadership, including co-CEO Javier Ferreira.
Catalonia is now home to 239 video game studios and accounts for over half of Spain's gaming industry revenue.
