Taxi drivers are on strike in Barcelona. The main taxi drivers professional associations called a 24-hour strike at the taxi stand outside Barcelona’s Sants central train station. They are protesting the arrival on the market of VTC licenses, which can be used by enterprises such as Uber or Cabify.

The strike started Wednesday at midnight and will continue until Thursday at midnight. Taxi drivers are demonstrating in Madrid at the same time. This morning, only a few taxis were available, for transporting people to hospitals or in cases of emergency.
