Spanish economy grows by 0.7% in second quarter of 2025
Yearly variation of GDP remains at 2.8%, equal to the first trimester of the year

The Spanish economy grew by 0.7% during the second quarter of the year, according to data released this Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The growth recorded was slightly higher than in the first quarter, when it was one decimal point less.
The interannual variation of GDP remains at 2.8%, the same as in Q1 of 2025.
The increase in GDP is mainly due to domestic demand, which contributed with a quarter-on-quarter increase of 0.9%, while the contribution of external demand was down by -0.1%.
Household consumption rose by 0.8%, while investment increased by 2.1%. Public administration consumption, on the other hand, fell by 0.1%.
