The SAGA gaming fair opened the doors for its fourth edition on Friday, which promises to be "more demanding than ever" with regards the Catalan language.

At the games fair, the first Super Smash Bros tournament broadcast in Catalan will be held.

This was explained in statements to the media by the coordinator of the video game commission and member of the executive of Plataforma per la Llengua, Tina Font.

Font said that conducting the broadcasts in Catalan is about granting "normality and corporate prestige" to the language in the sector.

The fair, organized by Plataforma per la Llengua with the support of the Catalan government, is open in the La Farga space in l'Hospitalet de Llobregat until Sunday.

A total of 70 exhibitors from the Catalan video game industry will be present, gathered under the slogan 'Unlock the next level'.

The Super Smash Bros competition will feature players such as Asimo and Gackt, from Japan, the Mexicans Mkleo, MkBigBoss and Chag, the Moroccan Raarchyor, the British Luugi, the Catalan Sisqui and the Madrid-based AndresFn.

The tournament already has more than 180 participants registered, so it is already considered an international competition.

In the Arena space, it will be possible to follow live

Several competitions organized and broadcast in Catalan by Gamesports Electrònics can be followed live from the Arena space, including a League of Legends tournament and an exhibition match of the League of Legends team of FC Barcelona against the winner of the Copa de les Estrelles.
