IoT Solutions World Congress kicks off with the participation of 170 international companies
170 international companies will take part in the second edition of the Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC), twice the number of participants from the first edition. Moreover, 160 speakers will discuss as to what extent the Internet is "radically transforming" the industry. The event, held in the Fira de Barcelona facility on Gran Via, kicked off this Tuesday and will continue to offer the latest developments in this sector until next 27th of October. Although the principal focus is the application of the Internet of Things in the Industry, the Catalan Minister for Business and Knowledge Jordi Baiget pointed out during the inauguration ceremony the multiple uses of the IoT, that “it has to do with the industry, but also the daily life of individuals and society, and we have Catalan companies at the event presenting solutions regarding cybersecurity, measurement and data transmission, mobility control and applications in health and agriculture".
Barcelona (CNA).- The Internet of Things Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC) has opened its second edition this Tuesday and will continue to offer the latest developments in this sector, based on the application of the Internet in the industry, until next 27th of October. This year, more than 170 companies from all around the world and 160 speakers will participate in the event, where they will discuss as to what extent is the Internet is "radically transforming" the industry, the organisers said. During the inauguration ceremony, the Catalan Minister for Business and Knowledge, Jordi Baiget, said that the IoT "is a very dynamic sector that is creating an ecosystem”. Moreover, the politician stressed the multiple application of the IoT: “It has to do with the industry, but also the daily life of individuals and society, and we have Catalan companies at the event presenting solutions regarding cybersecurity, measurement and data transmission, mobility control and applications in health and agriculture, among others".
A total of 35 Catalan companies are participating in the IoTSWC, of \u200B\u200Bwhich 16 are integrated into the stand of the Catalan Government. In addition to this local representation, more than 170 international companies are taking part in the second edition of the event, being held at the Fira de Barcelona facility on Gran Via, which is more than double the 80 that participated in the first edition. Among the most prominent firms there are companies like Accenture, Analog Devices, Dassault, Deloite, Deutsche Telekom, everis, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Intel, Kaspersky, Microsoft, SAP, Schneider Electric, Vodafone and Telefonica.
The main topics of discussion during the IoTSWC will be manufacturing, transport and logistics, health, energy and innovation and technology, as well as business transformation. The event will be the venue of debates on concepts such as return on assets, predictive maintenance and property of industrial data, and interoperability, which have all become key issues for companies that invest large capital in updating systems considered outdated and gradually being replaced by the Internet of Things.
The event held at the Fira de Barcelona facility \u200B\u200Bincludes exhibitors and conferences, but also places where you can directly test some of the innovations in the Internet of Things. Some of the innovations being presented want to solve problems like ending the loss of luggage at airports, reducing noise in cities and better managing the water supply to urban consumers.
