Grifols shares jumped 15% on the stock market after the pharmaceutical company published its audited accounts on Friday morning, according to the Spanish stock market regulator (CNMV).

The Catalan pharmaceutical company said that its auditor, KPMG, had approved its 2023 accounts "without exception".

In the recently released results, Grifols reported a profit of €59 million, down 71.5% from the previous financial year, alongside "record" revenues of €6,592 million.

The publication of the audited accounts coincides with the week of a recent attack by the short seller Gotham City Research, which led to a further fall in the value of Grifols shares, with a drop of more than 15%.

Grifols has suffered huge volatility on the stock market in recent months following the accusation of fraudulent accounting from the fund Gotham City Research.

Grifols have strongly denied and fought back against the short seller's claims, and have said they will take legal action against Gotham City Research.
