Fuel prices in Catalonia continue to soar following the outbreak of hostilities in Iran, with a liter of regular diesel reaching €1.84 (up nearly 30% in 15 days) and agricultural diesel climbing to €1.50, 36% higher than before the conflict began.

Gasoline has also risen, now at €1.73 per liter, marking a 16.5% increase since the start of the crisis.

According to the Ministry for Ecological Transition, current prices are the highest since 2024, but for now, not as high as during the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

At least a dozen service stations in Catalonia are selling diesel for more than €2 per liter, including locations in Barcelona, Ripoll, and Castellbisbal.

Farmers are particularly affected, as the sudden jump in agricultural diesel prices comes alongside higher energy and fertilizer costs, prompting calls from Farmers' Union for government intervention.

Industry representatives warn that cereal producers are facing "considerable losses," urging measures such as VAT cuts on fuel and stricter enforcement of the Food Chain Law to prevent sales below production costs.
