The inflation rate in Catalonia remained stable at 2% in February, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

This is the same figure as in January, which is explained by the drop in electricity prices, offsetting the increases in costs of restaurants, accommodation, and food services.

The Catalan consumer price index remained below the Spanish average, which was 2.3%.

Core inflation, which does not include the most volatile elements, rebounded one decimal point after three months of stagnation, and stood at 2.3%.

The rate of core inflation in Catalonia was also below the national average of 2.7%.

The data published this Friday still does not include the impact of the outbreak of the war in Iran, which started in early March.
