Delta Air Lines launches new Barcelona-Boston route
First journey of new connection will arrive Friday morning

Delta Air Lines is launching a new direct flight between Barcelona and Boston starting this week.
The new connection will have three flights weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
The airline explained in a statement that the new route will be code-shared with Air France-KLM.
The first flight of the new route will depart from Boston at 6 pm local time and land on Friday morning at 7.45 am, Catalan time.
In the opposite direction, the flight will depart two hours later, at 9.45 am from El Prat airport and land in the American city at 11.50 am local time.
The connection will be operated with an Airbus A330-200, equipped with 281 seats, distributed in four classes.
The American company highlighted Barcelona as "one of Delta's hubs in Europe," as the airline already connects the Catalan capital with New York through JFK airport with two daily flights, and Atlanta with ten weekly journies.
Meanwhile, they also say Boston is positioning itself as a "priority destination thanks to its relevance in sectors such as technology, education, and health, as well as for its tourist appeal and as a connection route with the northeastern United States."
Delta adds that Barcelona is among the ten most searched destinations on its website for this summer.
