Catalonia sets new historic record for travelers and hotel stays in 2025
Accomodations register more than 22 million visitors and more than 60 million nights

Catalonia has surpassed its historic highs in both hotel guests and overnight stays in 2025, according to the latest data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
Throughout the year, hotels across all four regions have repeatedly broken previous records.
Catalonia closed 2025 with 22,582,531 people sleeping in its hotels.
Last year's travelers figure represents a 4.5% increase over 2024.
In both cases, 2024 was the previous record, a mark surpassed by 2025, which has broken monthly traveler records in every month except March.
These highs come from a mix of domestic and international travellers, with foreigners making up a significant share of visitors throughout the year.
Catalonia's appeal as a tourist destination has translated into a year of historic activity for the hotel sector.
Economic and industry observers note that while the numbers of visitors has grown, there is also a trend towards slightly shorter stays on average.
Yet, the overall trajectory confirms 2025 as an exceptional year for Catalan hotel tourism.
