Average daily rate rises to over €135 while occupancy tops 65%

Hotels in Catalonia welcomed almost 2.5 million guests in June – 2,455,692 to be exact – marking the best June since records began in 1999.
The number of visitors is up 6% on the same month last year (2,317,946).
Despite the record figure, provisional data from Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) released on Wednesday also showed that overnight stays dipped slightly year-on-year, from 6,906,829 in June 2024 to 6,890,423 this year.
The average daily rate per room rose by 0.8% to €135.26, while the average stay reached 2.81 nights – the highest so far in 2025 – though still down nearly 6% from last June.
Hotel occupancy remained steady at 66.52%, up slightly from 66.36% in June 2024.
New records
This marks the second consecutive year that Catalan hotels have set a new record for June visitor numbers and the third consecutive month of record-breaking figures.

April and May 2025 also posted the highest-ever guest totals for those months, with 1,969,774 and 2,273,037 guests respectively.
In fact, only March has fallen short of setting a new monthly record this year.
