Catalan CaixaBank awarded the ‘Best Bank in Spain 2012’ by Euromoney
The British financial news publication has also awarded the Spanish Santander the ‘Best Bank in the World 2012’. Euromoney emphasised CaixaBank’s fiancial solvency and its strong growth over the previous years.
London (ACN).- The British publication Euromoney has awarded Barcelona-based CaixaBank the ‘Best Bank in Spain 2012’. Euromoney has appreciated CaixaBank’s financial solvency and the strong growth the Catalan bank had over the previous years without abandoning the corporate values in place since the institution’s foundation. CaixaBank, which is currently Spain’s largest bank, was founded last year, the Catalan savings bank La Caixa created a new private bank to concentrate all its banking business and part of its industrial shares. Additionally, Euromoney recognised the Spanish Banco Santander as the ‘Best Bank in the World 2012’ for its solid business, geographical diversification, efficiency and the independent controls over its brands. Euromoney’s prizes were awarded on Thursday evening in London.
The publication recognised CaixaBank’s “great commercial strength” as the leader in the Spanish banking sector with 13 million clients, more than 6,000 branches and around €342 billion in assets. Furthermore, CaixaBank foresees reaching more than 800,000 shareholders by the end of the year.
CaixaBank’s President, Isidre Fainé, ensured that awards such as Euromoney’s foster the Catalan financial entity’s objective “to keep a high level of excellence to create value for our shareholders and offer the best possible service to our clients”.
In addition, CaixaBank’s CEO, Joan Maria Nin, underlined “the need to consolidate CaixaBank’s current leadership in Spain through a sustainable growth in the market’s specialised segments: retail, private and corporate banking.
