Barcelona Supercomputing Center launches AI accelerator for 100 startups
Selected companies get 14 weeks of mentorship and access to MareNostrum 5 supercomputer

The artificial intelligence hub led by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) has launched its first program designed to accelerate 100 startups that are developing AI-based technologies, products, or services.
Backed by €2.3 million in funding, the initiative will select "advanced-stage" startup projects from across Spain, with participants operating out of hubs in Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, and Málaga.
Over 14 weeks, the selected companies will get access to the BSC's MareNostrum 5 supercomputer, technical and business mentorship, and the chance to connect with "major international corporations," according to a statement from Spain's Ministry for Digital Transformation.
Applications are open until November 9. Companies from any sector may apply, the ministry said, though it will give "special attention" to "strategic" fields such as healthcare, finance, the legal sector, media, sustainability and climate.
