Catalan infrastructure sees 4.2% more travelers in first six months of year

The Josep Tarradellas Barcelona El Prat airport registered a new record, this time for June, with 5,296,405 passengers, 4.7% more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, this marks the best six months in terms of passengers ever, with 27,183,432 travelers between January and June. Out of these, 27,133,258 have flown commercial, 4.2% more than the same period in 2024.

In June, 3,996,415 travelers flew internationally (6.2% more than in 2024) and 1,291,720 flew domestically (0.6% more).

The airport managed 32,710 operations in June, 4.3%, and 174,093, 4.3%, during 2025 so far.

In terms of cargo, the airport has moved 16,107 tonnes in June, 9.1% more, setting a monthly record. Since January, the infrastructure has moved 93,369 tonnes, 4.8% more, setting Barcelona's airport's best semester of cargo ever.

Girona and Reus

The Girona Costa Brava airport in northern Catalonia received 307,774 passengers in June, 12.7% more than in June last year. There have been 20.1% more landings and take-offs, a total of 3,387.

So far, in 2025, the airport has registered 899,083 passengers and 12,721 operations, a 16.9% and 29.6% more respectively.

Meanwhile, in Reus, southern Catalonia, there were 209,080 passengers, 9.3% more than in 2024, and 2,612 operations (7%). And while there were 12.6% more travelers between January and June (521,979), there were 2.8% fewer operations.
