Catalan hotels continue to break records.

August closed with historic high numbers of guests accommodated, according to hoteliers' data published on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Hotels in Catalonia welcomed 2,723,647 guests in August, a figure that's 2.96% higher than the number corresponding to last August (2,645,423).

Of the total, more than 1.8 million were foreigners and 921,258 were Spanish residents.

2025 has seen historic figures in all months except March. Overall, between January and August, Catalan hotels have received 15.7 million customers.

Overnight stays in August, however, fell by 0.96%, down to 8,814,586.

Prices increased by 1.5% compared to last year, but, despite this, Catalonia was the region that saw the lowest price increases in Spain.

Madrid, by contrast, saw prices jump +12.2%, while the Spanish average was +5.8%.
