A group of 32 independent hotels in Catalonia have come together under the new brand: Grans Hotels de Catalunya, the result of a union between Costa Brava Hotels and Blau Verd Hotels.

The group is diverse, featuring city, seaside, and mountain hotels, but share certain characteristics. They are all family-owned and managed, in choice locations, and offer food based on local produce.

The vast majority are located in the Girona region. The brand aims to incorporate more hotels with similar characteristics from all over Catalonia to reach 50 in total in the next five years.

"We want to add more independent, family-friendly hotels," explained Jordi Mias, president of the organization. "Off the beaten track but welcoming, that offer experiences like cycling tourism or enotourism.

The initiative also includes the Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya brand, which consists of smaller establishments with less than 15 rooms.
