Catalan companies will have a 10% greater presence at the world's largest audiovisual trade show, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), which will be held between January 30 and February 2 at Fira Barcelona's Gran Via site.

A total of 80 Catalan companies and technology research centers will participate in the exhibition fair.

Catalonia will have the fifth largest presence at the fair, behind China, Germany, the UK, and the USA.

According to data from the Catalan government, 67% of all participating Spanish companies are from Catalonia.

“Biggest edition ever”

It will be the fourth time the trade show takes place in Barcelona, having previously been held in Amsterdam for 16 years, and it is set to become the largest yet, both in terms of space, visitors, and exhibitors.

Some 1,340 exhibitors will take part in the exhibition at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via site, across an 82,000-square-meter space, 30% bigger than last year.

In addition, nearly 70,000 attendees have registered for the ISE, according to the event's managing director Mike Blackman, which is about 25% more than last year’s attendance of over 58,000.

“We look forward to the largest edition ever,” Blackman told media.

Catalan companies

One of the companies that will have the largest exhibition displays is the Catalan broadcasting and production company Mediapro with a 100-square-meter stand in Hall 4.

Another 30 Catalan companies will be on-site and are expected to hold 1,000 working meetings and generate business worth up to €2.5 million. “The ISE is an opportunity for Catalonia and Barcelona to strengthen its position on the technological world map,” Catalan Business Minister, Roger Torrent, said on Monday.

The audiovisual industry has an annual turnover of €265 billion worldwide. There are 3,600 companies in Catalania that have created over 31,000 jobs, according to 2022 data.
