9-Apr-24: 'Puigdemont to return to Catalonia after May 12 election'
Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont will return to Catalonia for the swearing-in ceremony even if he is not elected president in next month's vote. The Junts candidate has been living outside Spain since the aftermath of the 2017 independence referendum. Puigdemont, who is running to be the next Catalan president once again, has already moved to Northern Catalonia for the campaign.
