5-Apr-24: 'Spain's scaled back anti-smoking plan approved'

The Spanish government has postponed changes to anti-smoking legislation that would mean expanding smoke-free zones and changing packaging. Catalonia said the plan presented by the Spanish health ministry today "did not involve immediate changes." Spain's health minister warned that prospective smoking bans they would like to bring in, for example in universities, on beaches, and on bar and restaurant terraces, cannot be voluntary in nature.
