The deal between Chinese carmaker Chery and Barcelona-based Ebro to begin manufacturing electric vehicles in Catalonia could lead to up to 1,250 new jobs. The joint venture marks the first time a Chinese manufacturer will produce vehicles in Spain. Production is set to get underway this summer, with some 150,000 vehicles expected to be built over the next five years.
