The government has announced changes to drought measures, including a cap on water consumption for tourists. Limits on water use at tourist accommodation will be the same as for residents. The executive also announced that both private and public swimming pools can be refilled if local councils designate them as climate shelters, open to the public. A third change will formalize rules around hotels using portable desalination units, as requested by tourist hotspots like Lloret de Mar.
