11-Apr-24: 'EU Advocate General says Puigdemont should have been MEP since 2019 election'
The Advocate General of the Court of the European Union said that the EU parliament should have accepted Carles Puigdemont's MEP seat from the start. Pro-independence Junts MEPs Puigdemont and Toni Comín were denied seats in 2019. The Advocate General says that the then-president of the EU Chamber, Antonio Tajani, questioned the official proclaimed election results. The lawyer's opinion is nonbinding.
