Employees of Inditex, the parent company of brands such as Zara, Massimo Dutti, and Pull&Bear, protested outside Barcelona's flagship Zara store on Passeig de Gràcia on Friday.

The demonstration organized by the CCOO and UGT unions comes after the company posted a profit of €5.38 billion in 2023, an increase of 30.3% on the previous year.

Around one hundred people took part, with "negotiations paralyzed," according to the CCOO's Isabel Flores.

Flores said she didn't know how the "company can post profits of €5.3 billion, a crazy amount, up 30%, and refuse to work on things that they know are necessary."

The unions' demands include a retirement plan, and a bonus and salary increase for long service.

Protests also took part around Spain, including in Andalusia, Madrid and Galicia, where the fashion giant was founded.
