Catalonia's tourism sector expecting 'very good' Easter

The tourism sector is anticipating a "very good" Easter, with hotels and other accomodation across much of Catalonia expecting to be full.
The snow that fell in the Pyrenees two weeks ago has rejuvenated the ski season, with more pistes open than at any other point this winter.
The good weather bodes well for coastal areas, with tourism representatives confident that, including last-minute reservations, accommodation will be fully booked between Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Despite an increase in prices, toursim chiefs have noticed people's "desire to go on vacation," with the pandemic definitively left behind.
Hotels in Barcelona are the only ones that anticipate receiving "slightly fewer" guests than last Easter, which they attribute to the fact that this year the holidays fall in March rather than April.
Specifically, the Barcelona Hotel Association expects to fill 85% of rooms, down from 87% in 2023.
Tourist apartments in the Catalan capital also forecast occupancy levels of around 85%, "very similar" to the previous year.
Barcelona Airport has 9,703 scheduled flights between Friday, March 22 and Monday, April 1, 50 more than last year (9,647).
Good Friday will be the busiest day, with 945 flights, followed by Easter Monday, with 942.
