Works begin on Eixample superblock, adding new green spaces to Barcelona

Barcelona is converting the block between Consell de Cent, Girona, Rocafort, and Comte Borrell streets into a new superblock. The local council says 58,000 m2 of public space will be recovered for pedestrians and there will be twelve times as much greenery in the area. The squares will feature permeable pavements, while priority will be given to plants and children’s play areas
