Jordi Cuixart, the president of Omnium Cultural and one of the most high profile pro-independence activists, has announced he will step down from his post. Cuixart is one of the nine people who spent over three years in prison for their role in the 2017 independence push.

The Spanish government’s delegate in Catalonia, Teresa Cunillera, has resigned saying the political situation has “considerably improved" since she started in 2018. She will be replaced by the dean of the Barcelona Bar Association, Maria Eugènia Gay.
