23-May-22: 'La Sagrera transport hub 60% complete, will serve 50 million passengers when open'

<p><span id="docs-internal-guid-227a56fd-7fff-c47c-6850-bed355400e47"><span>The Sagrera train station and transport hub, under construction for years and over budget by six times, is now 60% complete. The Spanish transport minister said today that the station will serve 50 million passengers a year when it&rsquo;s in operation.</span></span></p> <p><span><span id="docs-internal-guid-6ce1b4d3-7fff-ef52-d1d6-bdf492049c25"><span>So far, 540 of the 920 million euros budgeted for the La Sagrera station have been spent on the project. </span><span>T</span><span>he hub will connect metro, commuter trains, high-speed trains, and bus services.</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>The T-Mobilitat tap-and-go transport card for passengers is expected to be rolled out across Catalonia by 2024.</span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span id="docs-internal-guid-c8865d63-7fff-2085-c85d-aef447b96ed8"><span>18% of road accident victims so far in 2022 have been motorcyclists, with almost a hundred seriously injured. Of the 65 deaths this year, 12 were motorcyclists.
