An official from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Gilbert Felli, visited Catalonia for a potential 2030 hosting of the Winter Games.

On a visit to La Molina ski station, the oldest in the country, Felli advanced that the IOC suggested a candidature based on already-existing or foreseen infrastructures, so as not to do out, he said: "extraordinary spending that is not useful."

The visit was made along with the secretary general of sport, Gerard Figueras, and the president of Catalan railways (FGC), Ricard Font, who insisted as well on a candidature that is "economically sustainable."

The visit will last three days, and will also include the Val d'Aran, the Andorra airport, Barcelona, Sabadell, and Badalona, as well as major FC Barcelona landmarks.
