Guardiola to sign a new contract until 2012
FC Barcelona and Josep Guardiola reach an agreement to renew the coach’s contract. The current contract was expiring at the end of this 2011 June. The club announces the agreement, to be signed in a few days.
Barcelona (CNA).- Pep Guardiola will continue being Barça’s coach for another year, at least until 2012. Guardiola’s contract renewal was one of the most expected news among Barça’s fans, considering the incredible level of the team. Guardiola was ending his current contract on the 30th June 2011. The club had stated on many occasions its interest to renew the coach’s contract, and Guardiola had also let people understand his will was to continue, but nothing had been agreed. Now the agreement comes. Neither the club nor Guardiola announced the agreement’s details; only that Guardiola will stay being Barça’s coach for another season, the 2011-2012. Guardiola has already been 3 years Barça’s coach and he would sum thus, at least, another season. In fact, these one-season extensions in Guardiola’s contract are not new. Last year Guardiola also extended his contract by 1 more season. The new contract will be signed in the coming days.
