Barcelona (FCB).- The Blaugrana continue to write their name in the history books and the latest record to be broken is the 40-point barrier after the first 15 games of the season. The record includes the calculation of converting the previous two-point system into three points for a win.

Never before

In their first 15 games of the season Barça have won 13 times, drawn once and lost on just one occasion, while securing victory in all seven of their away games. The 40 points obtained this year give Pep Guardiola's team one more than they managed last term when they won 12 and drew three times i their opening 15 games, the same as Real Madrid in 1961/62, 1968/69 and 1991/92.

More points

This season's record is also better than the team that won the treble two seasons ago had because they won 38 points with 12 victories, two draws and one defeat. That season, like last time out, the title was lifted at the end of the campaign. In fact, only Real Madrid, in 1991/92, when they finished second to the Blaugrana Dream Tea, did not go on to win the league after securing 38 points in their first 15 games.

Goal difference

Points are not the only record broken as Barça's goals tally is also historic for this stage of the season. The Blaugrana have a plus 38 goal difference as they have scored 46 times and conceded just eight. This figure is one higher than the previous record set in the 2008/09 campaign by Barça, when they scored 46 and let in nine.
