Barça and UNICEF extend their agreement
FC Barcelona and UNICEF will continue working together for vulnerable children. Barça has been showing UNICEF logo on its T-shirt for the last five years and will continue doing so.
Barcelona (FCB).- UNICEF and FC Barcelona have agreed to extend their cooperation beyond the present agreement that ends in June 2011. FC Barcelona was donating 0.7% of its budget to the children protection organisation. The UNICEF logo will remain on the FC Barcelona official jersey for the 2011-2012 season, positioned below the player’s number on the back.
For the last five years FC Barcelona has supported UNICEF to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and provide global brand awareness for UNICEF. The next phase of the partnership that is still under discussion aims at utilising the social assets of the club in support of a global movement for education and sport that will deliver tangible results for children. Further details will be announced in June.
