The wine harvest season started in Catalonia on Tuesday night when Raimat, one of the largest wineries in the country, began to gather its vines’ grapes manually and in the dark.

The winery expects a 10% production increase from last year, as well as an “excellent quality" wine. The “fresh weather" in summer and spring was instrumental in ensuring a good quality for the grapes.

With 300 hectares, Raimat has one of the largest ecological vineyards in the world. Raimat is an estate that pioneers in growing and wine technologies which have allowed it to categorize its 2,245 hectares into individual plots which are treated one by one in accordance with their individual characteristics.
