In the severe weather conditions starting on Tuesday night, some buildings in southern Catalonia have been inundated with water on the ground floors.

Some roads were also made impossible to drive on, while train lines were also disrupted.

The areas worst hit by the storm were Empordà, Camp de Tarragona, and Ebre, all in southern Catalonia.

The Civil Protection raised the flooding plan phase to emergency after “serious” weather incidents were reported at 11:45 pm.
