Delays of over an hour due to breakdown at Sants train station

Seven commuter train lines are affected by the incident

A breakdown at Sants train station has caused delays of over an hour on the commuter trains around Barcelona. The affected lines are: R2 South, R2 North, R11, R13, R14, R15, and R16, according to operating company Renfe.

The incident took place at 6.30am on Friday morning in the zone towards Passeig de Gràcia. Railway infrastructure managing company Adif has called in technicians to proceed with repairs, and the first train that had broken down was repaired by 4pm. 

Around 100,000 passengers are experiencing delays of around 90 minutes. In total, 250 trains have been affected by the breakdown, across 7 lines connecting Barcelona with surrounding towns.
